Program and app
The Windows program and the Android app process the camera image exclusively on your device. Images are neither stored nor
transmitted. Neither contains ads, analytics or tracking services or Google services, and no account is needed. The history of
recognised codes only exists while program or app is open. All that is stored is a
language you chose explicitly (PC: file %APPDATA%\BarcodeScanner\sprache.txt) and, in the app, whether beep and vibration are switched on.
App permissions: camera (for recognition), vibration (feedback on a hit) and internet. The app only uses the internet when you
tap Info → Check for updates: it then fetches the file duko.de/barcode/download/version.json.
This creates the server logs described below. Neither program nor app connects to the internet on its own.
If you open a recognised link, your browser displays it, and from then on the terms of that website apply. If you share content from the app, you decide which app it goes to.
This website, downloads and update check
When you visit this page, download a file or the app checks for updates, the web server stores technically necessary data (IP address, time, requested file, browser identification) in log files to ensure operation and security (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The logs are deleted after a short time. There are no cookies and no embedded third-party services. The page language follows your browser's language setting; if you choose it via the flag, it is only passed on in the address.
